The Town Hall was founded as a space for education, dialogue, and artistry.

Since 1998, The Town Hall’s Education Outreach Programs have reached over 1 million students by providing high quality arts programming for New York City schools and students from Pre-K to grade 12. In 2022, the arts are playing an invaluable role in the healing and social emotional health of over a million of New York City public school students who have returned to in person learning after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Artist Residencies: In & After School

The Town Hall supports a diverse, high quality roster of teaching artists. Our teaching artists practice an artistic discipline at a high level, and possess expertise leading specific demographics in an educational experience through their artistry. Through building relationships with teachers and other school leaders, Town Hall teaching artists are supported to lead culturally responsive, age-appropriate and multidisciplinary arts programs that foster creative expression, critical thinking, a sense of cultural identity and stronger self-esteem.

We are always excited to collaborate with the dedicated and caring teaching artists, teachers, and administrators who hustle to make high quality, tailored programs happen for their students.

Social Justice + Arts Program

This program is a flexible, student-centric curriculum that can take place over one semester or two, with facilitators of any discipline.
