Multiple Latin Grammy winner Tomatito, who is considered the finest guitarist of his generation, performs at The Town Hall. José Fernández Torres, known in the artistic world as Tomatito, is a member of one of the most famous dynasties in the world of flamenco singing. He is best known as the guitarist who accompanied Camarón de la Isla for the last eighteen years of the great singer’s life, collaborating with him on the seminal album La Leyenda del Tiempo (The Legend of Time), and many other essential flamenco recordings. After the death of Camarón, in January 1993, Tomatito started a career as a concert guitarist. Since then, he has performed in major flamenco festivals worldwide. The NY Times hails, "Tomatito is the most eminent guitarist in flamenco, especially since the death of Paco de Lucía”. World Music Institute is proud to again present Tomatito as he returns to Town Hall, and pays tribute to Paco at the NYC Flamenco Festival.
