In 1982, Galway Kinnell gathered poets June Jordan, W.S. Merwin, Robert Bly, Derek Walcott, and others for an anti-nuclear event at The Town Hall entitled "Poetry Against the End of the World."

This evening is just one example of poets coming to The Town Hall to offer support and ring the alarm about social justice. From appearances by Edna St. Vincent Millay, Langston Hughes, Allen Ginsberg, and Nikki Giovanni, poetry has played an important part of the history of the Hall.

In this tradition, poet Dr. Claire Schwartz joins us on Tuesday, June 23rd in an evening of poetry—poetry against the end of the world.

This is free virtual event.
