Elizabeth Warren, one of the nation’s most influential progressives and a longtime champion of working families and the middle class, is the senior senator from Massachusetts.

In the aftermath of the 2008 financial crisis, Senator Warren served as Chair of the Congressional Oversight Panel for the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). Her efforts to protect taxpayers, hold Wall Street accountable, and ensure tough oversight of the Bush and Obama Administrations won praise from both sides of the aisle. Recognized as one of the nation's top experts on bankruptcy and the financial pressures facing working families, Senator Warren is widely credited for the original thinking, political courage, and relentless persistence that led to the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

Today as a U.S. Senator, Warren is a member of the Senate Committees on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP); Armed Services; and the Special Committee on Aging.

A former Harvard Law School professor, she is the author of ten previous books, including A Fighting Chance, a national bestseller that received widespread critical acclaim. Her new book, This Fight Is Our Fight, is her eleventh. The mother of two and grandmother of three, she lives in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with her husband, Bruce Mann.
