Since its founding as a nexus for the women’s suffrage movement over a century ago, The Town Hall has been New York City’s premier venue for considering difficult questions of race, economics, and gender. In the spirit of historically famous conversations with social justice luminaries such as Langston Hughes, Claire Boothe Luce, Emma Goldman, Germaine Greer, and Lorraine Hansberry, The Town Hall presents an open forum headlined by the political activists Regina Jackson and Saira Rao, joined onstage by the Emmy-winning director Patty Ivins, author Frederick Joseph, and The Progressivists Community co-founder Jo Lorenz. The evening includes a screening of Ivins’ documentary film Deconstructing Karen, exploring Jackson and Rao’s New York Times bestselling book White Women and their provocative Race2Dinner project, designed to inspire white women to confront and acknowledge their own ingrained racism and complicity in white supremacy.

Angela Hunte, a singer-songwriter from Brooklyn with Trinidadian roots, has always been passionate about music. Her childhood in Trinidad fueled her dreams of performing on big stages, and her talent for crafting catchy hooks and demos became widely recognized after she moved to Brooklyn. This led to collaborations with renowned artists such as Nas, Snoop, and Diddy, and she has written hit songs for stars like Rihanna, Melanie Fiona, Britney Spears, and Danity Kane. Perhaps her most famous work is co-writing "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, which won a Grammy award.

Angela's latest album, "Mango," slated to release Q1 in 2024, is a reflection of her musical journey and includes collaborations with industry legends like Wyclef Jean and production by a team of Grammy-winning producers. Now, as an executive producer, Angela is poised to bring her creative majesty to the screen with her latest offerings of expressive shows such as 'Apply Pressure,' 'Amplify Me,' and 'Kulture.' Expect her to bring the same level of passion and talent that she brought to your headphones to the screen.
