The Knights

The Knights are a Grammy-nominated collection of adventurous musicians, dedicated to transforming the orchestral experience and eliminating barriers between audiences and music. Driven by an open-minded spirit of camaraderie and exploration, The Knights inspire listeners with vibrant programs that encompass their roots in the classical tradition and passion for artistic discovery. Since their beginnings in early 2000s, the orchestra has toured and recorded with renowned soloists including Yo-Yo Ma, Dawn Upshaw, Bela Fleck, and Gil Shaham; collaborated with artists such as William Kentridge, Pam Tanowitz, and John Heginbotham; and performed at Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, Tanglewood, and Vienna’s Musikverien. The 2018-19 Season continues this spring with a month-long tour of Europe with Israeli mandolinist Avi Avital, premieres with Syrian clarinetist Kinan Azmeh in Washington, D.C. and Carnegie Hall, and summer performances at Tanglewood and Ravinia. Emerging from a series of informal chamber music parties in friends’ living rooms, The Knights are led by Artistic Directors and brothers Colin and Eric Jacobsen.

Jim Breuer

The freewheeling, New York bred comic storyteller – who made the list of Comedy Central’s “100 Greatest Standups of All Time” - is hotter than ever, a global touring sensation and regular presence on radio and television whose rabid audience, he’s thrilled to note, is filled with “lifetimers.” Once folks see him live, they’re hooked.  Breuer came to national attention during his seasons on Saturday Night Live (1995-98), a rebuilding era whose cast featured Will Ferrell, David Spade and Norm McDonald.  Over the years, Breuer has been something of a multi-media sensation currently appearing alongside Kevin James on “Kevin Can Wait” on CBS as well as popular films “Zookeeper,” “Dick,” “Titan A.E.” and “Beer League”; hosting MTV's popular “Beach House” and VH1’s “Web Junk 20”; and being featured on “Comedy Jam,” “This Is Not Happening,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon,” and “The Marriage Ref.”
