Broadway by the Year, in its record-breaking 16th season at Town Hall, once again re-invents itself to bring a fresh and exciting new perspective to The Great White Way's classic show tunes. This season, series creator/writer/director/host Scott Siegel will use each of our four concerts to explore the ever-popular music that was born on Broadway in four different decades.
There was no decade like it in the history of Broadway; the 1960's was the fertile field in which the classic form of the musical theater reached its culmination with shows like Hello, Dolly! and Fiddler on the Roof. And it was also the decade in which Broadway first dipped its toes into the world of rock 'n' roll with Bye, Bye, Birdie and then went full blast with Hair!
