Theirworld and UNICEF are joining forces to make education a priority on the first day of the United Nations new global development goals.

The unique event will be hosted by international advocate for women’s and children's rights, and first Education Minister of Mozambique Graça Machel alongside special guests.

The #UpForSchool Town Hall will include special performances, guests, awards, and stories from education leaders and youth across the globe emphasizing the importance of education with a focus on safe schools and girl’s education. The event is the culmination of a year of youth-led campaigning resulting in the world’s largest petition on education signed by more than 8 million people around the world – the #UpForSchool petition – being handed to world leaders at the United Nations.
