The World Mother Storytelling Project (World Mother) is a far-reaching global initiative, that teaches us to listen to and tell our mothers’ stories.  These stories can reshape our own lives and our world.

This Mother’s Day, many of us will be unable to physically be with our mothers or our children. At this time of social isolation, people are seeking ways to stay connected and to make a difference. We know that through stories and storytelling we can find meaning in our lives.

Join us for this immersive and enlightening experience, led by Murray Nossel, founder and director of World Mother Storytelling Project and co-creator of the Narativ listening and storytelling method. He has taught storytelling for 25 years in more than 50 countries to more than 10,000 people.

What can you expect to see during the event?

Our host Murray Nossel will bring his storytelling process to help children (and adult children) learn to tell the stories of their mothers. Learning to tell our mothers stories, and hearing those stories we never have, is a way to connect with them and ourselves more deeply than we normally would.

During this two hour event, Murray will guide pairs of mothers and their children, and the children alone, through the process of listening to their mother's stories and then re-telling them with fresh understanding, insight, and empathy.

Who should attend World Mother Live?

World Mother Live 2020 is the perfect event to experience with your mother, and a great way to spend Mother's Day! We all have different relationships with our mothers and children, and by listening to others tell their stories, we can come to appreciate our own. This year's event is appropriate for mothers and children of all ages.

Learn how to give your mother, and yourself, the gift of her story.

Over the course of the 2-hour event, you will learn how to listen without judgment, opinion or preconception; how to interview your mother to gather her stories using Narativ’s unique methodology, and how to take the raw material you collected to create a compelling story. Even if your mother is no longer in this world, you can learn to tell her story from reconstructed memories that live on.

Would you like to learn how to tell your mother's story and be included in the World Mother Live event as a featured storyteller? Click here to apply. If not, RSVP below to attend as a guest.
